What is ice fishing?
Ice Fishing is a winter-limited activity that involves fishing by drilling ice holes in frozen lakes or rivers. It needs to face the extreme environment of low temperature, cold wind and thick ice. The target fish species include cold-water fish such as crucian carp, pike, sea bass and trout.

✅ ice drill: manual/electric (6-8 inches aperture best)
✅ ice fishing rod: ultra short (50-80cm), ultra sensitive (UL-L tone)
✅ micro wheels: lightweight, with backstop switch
✅ fishing line: 0.6-2 PE line + carbon precursor (anti-freezing formula)
✅ float/electronic alarm: captures weak bites
✅ portable tent/heater: resistant to -30 ° C cold

Ice thickness of more than 15cm is safe. Preferred choices:
The slope (fishway) from the shallows to the deep water
Underwater structure area (driftwood, aquatic plants)
▪ Old fishing spot (Dark ice hole = Someone has fished before)
Bait strategy
Live bait: Red worms, maggots (activated with warm water before hooking)
Bait: Micro ice fishing sequins (2-3g), tungsten ice fishing hooks
The essence of fishing techniques
Fishing method: Gently lift 10cm every 20 seconds to imitate the struggling bait fish
Fishing method: Electronic float + dead bait, suitable for lazy people or extremely cold weather
Low-temperature adaptation
Apply antifreeze oil to the fishing line to prevent freezing
Open the ice holes every hour to prevent refreezing
The iron law of safety
Ice is strictly prohibited when the ice layer is less than 10cm
Carry crampons and a rescue rope with you at all times
Why do we need special fishing lines for sea fishing?
The Marine environment is extremely harsh – salt water corrosion, reef wear and tear, and the impact of huge objects cause ordinary fishing lines to collapse instantly. Professional sea fishing lines should have:
✅ salt-resistant coating: ✅ ultra-high tensile value: ✅ UV aging resistance: ✅ zero elongation sensitivity
